Customer Care
An award for: Businesses that put the customer first. This category is split into three awards: accommodation; serviced accommodation; activities and attractions.
Who should enter? Participants in VisitScotland's Quality Assurance schemes for example:
- all serviced accommodation operators, such as, hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, serviced apartments etc.
- all accommodation operators, such as, camping and caravan parks, hostels, self catering, caravan holiday home, holiday parks, hostels, activity accommodation, bod or bothie and bunkhouse accommodation etc.
- all activities and attractions, such as, visitor attraction, castle, museum, historic house, tour, historic attraction, art venue, leisure/activity centre, heritage centre, tourist shop, wildlife experience, gardens, garden centre and farmers' markets, etc.
What the judges are looking for: A clear customer care strategy, proven track record, evidence of exceptional customer care.
Conditions of Entry:
- Only online entries are accepted.
- A business or individual can enter more than one category
- Entries must be submitted by 11.59pm on Thursday 5 June 2008.

Judges reserve the right to transfer entries which in their view are entered in an incorrect category, to a more appropriate category.

Where applicable, entrants must be a member of VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance schemes.

If you are submitting an entry on behalf of another party, you must be able to provide proof of permission if required.
- The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
All information will be treated as confidential and will be used solely for the purposes of the Scottish Thistle Awards.
- For PR purposes, VisitScotland reserve the right to publish contact details and a summary of short listed and winners entries.
- Scottish Thistle Award winners and finalist will be promoted in national and regional media and on the visitscotland.com and the Scottish Thistle Awards websites.
- VisitScotland cannot be held responsible for the non-receipt or loss of any entries.
- Wining organisations / businesses must be prepared to give media interviews, and we encourage winning organisations to become Scottish Thistle Awards champions by help us promote the values of excellence and quality.
